National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA)

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology oversees the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA), a government institution. The Parliamentary Act No. 21 of 1973 (Re-.2019) established NECTA to handle the duties of administering exams and providing certification as specified by the Act.

The following positions are open to public employees who would like to transfer to The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA):

Open Positions and Description

1. Examination Officer II (Chemistry Subject) – 1 Post

  • Possessing a bachelor’s degree in education, a bachelor’s degree in science combined with education, or comparable credentials from an accredited institution with a concentration in chemistry.
  • Holder of a postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.

2. Examination Officer II (Physics Subject) – 1 Post

  • Possessing both a postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) and a bachelor’s degree in physics.

3. Examination Officer II (Kiswahili Subject) – 1 Post

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in education, a bachelor’s degree in arts with education, or comparable credentials from an accredited institution with a Kiswahili concentration.
  • Holder of a postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) and a bachelor’s degree in kiswahili.

4. Internal Auditor – 1 Post

  • Holder of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in any of the following areas: accounting, business administration, finance, auditing, or business administration with a focus on accountancy or finance. The candidate needs to hold an NBAA-recognized professional certification such as an ACCA, ACA, or CPA (T).

5. Principal Assistant Printer – 1 Post

  • Holder of an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution and at least thirteen (13) years of work experience in a related field, as well as an FTC or Diploma (NTA 6) in one of the following fields: Graphic Art and Printing, Printing Technology, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Printing Technology.

6. Printing Assistant II – 7 Posts

  • In possession of a Certificate (NTA 5) or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution, or a Trade Test Il/Level Il in one of the following fields: Graphic Art and Printing, Printing Technology, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
  • To run compact offset printing equipment;

7. Office Management Secretary II – 2 Posts

  • Possessing a Diploma (NTA 6) in Secretarial Studies from an accredited institution, with computer proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Internet, email, and MS Publisher, and a typing speed of 80 words per minute.

8. Driver II – 1 Post

  • A minimum of one year’s worth of safe driving experience without an accident is required for the CSEE and Certificate in Basic Driving Course from VETA/NIT, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution. A spotless Class E or C driver’s license is required.

General conditions:

  • Application letters must be routed through employers for candidates.
  • Candidates must be Tanzanian citizens.
  • Candidates ought to be public servants,
  • Copies of the applicant’s birth certificate, academic records, transcripts, and official secondary school diplomas must be attached. Legal action will be required upon the presentation of falsified certificates and other material.
