Responsibilities
- Make sure that safe work practices are followed, including obligatory safety meetings and training, the use of PPE when needed, incident and accident reporting, and strict adherence to all applicable environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations as well as other relevant rules, procedures, and guidelines.
- Follow up with site and regional permissions on unfulfilled material creation or modification requests.
- Prior to creating new item codes, check for overlaps between the current and new material codes.
- Verifying that the supply chain environment complies with the Barrick Cataloguing standard.
- Completing item identification in order to obtain missing product information from the things that are available on Bins
- Gathering data on newly received merchandise prior to its placement in the warehouse.
- Ask the procurement team follow-up questions every day regarding the products on the RFQ that suppliers
Eligibility and Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management and procurement, or its equivalent from an accredited university
- An additional benefit is professional registration with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians’ Board (PSPTB).Understanding Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other software is crucial. Utilizing additional specialized software for inventory management, such as SAP and IBM, will be advantageous.
- Two years at least of experience in the mining sector managing supply chains and procurement
- Prior familiarity with the IBM/SAP management system.
- An added benefit will be experience and the capacity to work long hours in a remote site setting.
