The Chinese Desk’s Relationship Manager will oversee and expand a clientele of Chinese descent and/or individuals with sizable commercial interests in China. The position involves offering specialized financial solutions to clients based on their needs and calls for a thorough understanding of the Chinese market, culture, and language.
Responsibilities:
- Create and preserve a solid rapport with both current and prospective customers in the Chinese community and companies who have an interest in China.
- As the main point of contact for customers, make sure they receive excellent care and satisfaction.
- To increase the business portfolio, deposits, interest, and non-interest income in accordance with the bank’s yearly targets, find, start, and negotiate SME and Corporate business prospects with new and existing clients.
- Offer your clients full-service banking, which includes investment products, trade financing, deposits, loans, and foreign exchange.
- Tailor financial solutions to each client’s unique requirements and objectives.
- Work together with other divisions to cross-promote a variety of bank goods and services.
- Utilize internal resources to offer comprehensive financial solutions.
Reporting:
- Report on customer activity, market conditions, and company growth initiatives on a regular basis.
- Inform top management on strategic initiatives and the performance of the Chinese portfolio.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a similar discipline. A professional certification such as an MBA is advantageous.
- Five years minimum of experience in corporate banking, relationship management, or a related position.
- A track record of success in managing a corporate or high-net-worth client portfolio, especially in China.
- English and Chinese language proficiency is required.
- Strong familiarity with the financial market, culture, and business environment in China.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and negotiating abilities.
- Strong ability to analyze and solve problems.
- The capacity to function both alone and together.
- Proficiency with financial software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
