Key Responsibilities

  • Possess the ability to follow all guidelines and protocols in the HME workshop’s welding department and across GGML.
  • Examine the equipment for damage, cracks, or other flaws, and note any findings.
  • The ability to organize work before it is done.
  • Fix the equipment and notify the senior supervisor when the job is finished.
  • Complete all grinding tasks.
  • Make sure that the oxy/acetylene cutting quality is consistently met.
  • Uphold excellent housekeeping practices at all times.
  • Meet work delivery deadlines in order to reduce resource demand while staying within the task completion deadline.
  • Respect all safety regulations that are pertinent to the task at hand.
  • Report any dangerous equipment right away to the supervisor.
  • Complete tasks as assigned or instructed.

Eligibility and Requirements

Education:

  • The VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade 1 in Welding and Fabrication, or its equivalent, is required for the Minimum Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE).
  • Must have a current driver’s license from Tanzania.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a comparable role in the mining or allied sectors.
