The intern will assist Jhpiego with their Humanitarian Action program. The intern will create useful deliverables and fortify ties with pertinent humanitarian actors in Tanzania in collaboration with teams located in Tanzania and the United States. Have an effect on how Jhpiego Tanzania is positioned in the humanitarian system of the nation.
Responsibilities
- Utilizing knowledge management platforms, tools, and reports to document Jhpiego Tanzania’s humanitarian efforts and reactions
- Creating and disseminating situation reports as needed
- Exercises for mapping humanitarian partners are carried out in cooperation with RAPID Tanzania, our humanitarian partner.
- Arranging get-togethers with important allies in the humanitarian sector
- Analyze the humanitarian situation in the nation and provide country leadership and US teams with updates.
- Attend external humanitarian coordination events (such as cluster meetings or other instruments of collaboration).
- Participate in the process of assessing the needs for disasters
- Connect with potential sources of money for humanitarian efforts
- Attending meetings of the Tanzanian Disaster Management NGO Network (DINGONET).
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a field that is relevant, such as public health, international relations, conflict studies, or another
- Knowledge of the Sphere Standard, the cluster system, and fundamental humanitarian concepts
- Open to learning new things
- Strong abilities in research
- Excellent organizing skills.
- Proven capacity to oversee several requests while paying close attention to deadlines and details
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or a similar discipline.
- Strong interest in community development, capacity building, and global health.
- Outstanding writing, research, and communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in the Microsoft Office Suite.
