A thorough FtMA Business Plan for Tanzania has been created in order to offer high-quality technical support that is in line with FtMA’s goals and enhances investments made by the public and private sectors in the creation of strong, sustainable, and successful agricultural value chains. For this reason, FtMA is seeking a Deputy Coordinator to help with the implementation and management of FtMA activities in Tanzania.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and carrying out the national implementation plan for the 2024–2025 season.
- Help in managing project interventions, directing the execution at the national level, and interacting with important value chain participants, such as farmers, aggregators, purchasers, input suppliers, banks, and extension service providers.
- assist in forming strategic alliances with the necessary players in the public and private sectors, including appropriate MOUs and other agreement types.
- Work together with the FtMA Global Team, the WFP Country Office, and the FtMA Coordinator to find and seize opportunities for in-country resource mobilization.
- Encourage Farmer Service Centers, Cooperating Partners, and other value chain participants to increase their capability so they can participate in the organized trade of food crops.
- Help develop the abilities of a team assembled locally and oversee it.
Qualifications
To meet requirement for WFP Opportunity 2024, you must have:
- Education: First university degree plus additional years of relevant job experience, training, or courses; or advanced university degree in Economics, International Development, Social Sciences, Agri-business, Rural Development, or a similar discipline.
- Experience: Four or more post-graduate years of increasingly responsibility professional experience, formulated and managed program plans; or six years without a graduate degree. This comprises projects and efforts related to smallholder resilience. expertise managing groups and enhancing output.
- Language proficiency in written and spoken English. It would be advantageous to speak any other official UN language.
