The nations of Southern Africa established and sustain the Southern African Development Community (SADC), a regional economic community. It seeks to promote regional integration and increase socioeconomic, political, and security cooperation among its Member States in order to bring about prosperity, peace, and stability. With sixteen (16) member states and a combined GDP of US$720 billion, SADC now has a population of about 340 million people.
In order to improve its ability to carry out the aforementioned mandate, the Secretariat is presently hiring for a number of posts. The following posts are consequently open to appropriately qualified and experienced citizens of SADC to apply for, either through the job advertisement or at the Secretariat’s Headquarters in Gaborone, Botswana:

Eligibility and Requirements
- Are under 52 years of age. This mandate stems from the Organization’s desire to hire employees who can work for a fair amount of time before reaching the 60-year-old obligatory retirement age.
- Belong to one of the following qualified member states: Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, United Republic of Tanzania, Botswana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
