We are seeking a professional and experienced Procurement Technician for a customer in Tanzania.
Job Overview:
This role entails supervising purchasing activities to ensure that purchased items are both cost-effective and of high quality, maintaining positive supplier relationships, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records by adhering to procurement procedures, as well as keeping an updated list of current and incoming inventory for the palm oil operations project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control, register, and document all purchase request paperwork.
- Support the negotiation of interactional and national procurement categories.Assist in the selection of acceptable suppliers and contractors in order to encourage excellent procurement practice while taking into account sustainability, ethical purchasing standards, and costing.
- Support local suppliers’ operational capability by managing order placement, supply/demand alignment, material replenishment, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Assist in negotiating with local connections by reviewing and analyzing vendor/supplier choices, including supply and pricing.
- Validate all supplier documents:Keep track of purchases, pricing, and other critical data for palm oil operations.
- Create a plan for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.
- Additional responsibilities include completing job-related tasks and special initiatives as assigned by the organization.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in procurement and supply chain management. Masters will provide an additional benefit.
- Experience: 4 – 5 years in procurement technician operations, specializing in palm oil processing.
- Technical skills include Microsoft Office proficiency and the ability to handle difficult issues with several abstract and concrete variables through logical or scientific reasoning.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills enable effective collaboration with individuals at all levels of the company.
