A proactive, seasoned, and resourceful Director of Internal Audit (DIA) is needed to lead the Internal Auditing department and oversee its strategy at Tanzanian Commercial Bank (TCB).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Together with the Audit Committee, create and complete a comprehensive audit plan at the start of each year, and periodically provide them with updates on your progress.
- Organize and carry out regular assessments of the Bank’s internal accounting and operational controls, reporting results and recommendations to the Audit Committee.
- Provide the Committee with brief quarterly reports from the audit department.
- Create and evaluate audit manuals, procedures, and policies;
- Create and carry out the audit schedule;
- Give a status report on the application of the audit’s recommendations.
Eligibility and Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree focusing in accounting or finance from accredited universities, or an equivalent degree from an accredited university in one of the following fields: auditing, accounting, finance, commerce, or business administration
- A minimum of seven years of work experience in a banking or financial institution, with two of those years needing to be spent in management
- A recognized accounting body’s CPA (T), CIA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent;
- Enrolled in the NBAA
- Having a master’s degree in one of the aforementioned subjects is advantageous.
- Strong leadership qualities combined with the poise needed to perform well under duress;
- Strong ability to inspire the team to be self-motivated during difficult circumstances;
