UNAIDS serves as a role model for UN reform, drawing on the experience and knowledge of 11 UN system Cosponsors and including representation from civil society on its governing board as the only cosponsored Joint Programme in the UN system.
In order to eradicate AIDS as a danger to public health by 2030, the UN system’s enhanced response in Tanzania is led and coordinated by the Tanzania Country Office.
Main Responsibilities
- Help the UNAIDS Country Office (UCO) and UCD teams organize, lead, and manage the Development Partners Group on AIDS and the Joint UN Team on AIDS;
- Assist the UCD/UCO and the Joint Team in providing updates on the UN Joint Plan on HIV and AIDS and the UNSDCF’s implementation status;
- Encourage Joint Team efforts to coordinate with emergency and humanitarian actors to incorporate HIV response and related SRHR services into emergency preparedness and contingency planning in fragile and humanitarian environments.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree from an advanced university in public health, administration, social or physical sciences, international development, or a related field of study.
- Experience: A minimum of two years of work experience, ideally in the public or private sector at the national or worldwide levels managing programs and gaining coordination and data analysis skills.
- Skills: Knowledge about the UN’s delivery systems and organization structure.
- Nationality: Only Belgian nationals are eligible for the following post under the terms of the JPO program.
- Age Requirement: Not more than 32 years old on December 31, the application year.
