Our Tanzanian client is seeking an experienced Industrial Relations Supervisor.

To provide the EACOP System, the EACOP Project Team is made up of shareholder secondes as well as national and international contractor personnel. Within the Project H3SE Team, the Project Social team is in charge of IR management during construction.

Responsibilities:

The IR Supervisor reports to the IR Manager and follows his or her instructions.
Maintains consistent professional working relationships with contractors, subordinates, and project management.
Manage day-to-day IR Officer actions and align with Contractor IR processes within the area of responsibility by coordinating with IR Officers.
Oversee and manage the daily monitoring operations of the IR officers.
Assist and guide IR Officers with everyday operations, and give assistance with contractor engagement as needed.
Assist the IR Manager with disciplinary actions and hearings.
Ensure that IR Officers maintain correct records (interview notes and pre-employment checks, employment contracts, disciplinary action records, and demobilisation notices).
Routine and non-routine monitoring of Contractor and subcontractor IR Plan execution.

Qualifications And Experiences Required:

Candidates must be Tanzanian nationals.
A minimum undergraduate degree in a related area is required, as well as at least 6 years of labor or employment law and industrial relations experience.
Experience in the extractive industry, construction or logistics, labor relations, and camp operations.
Experience working with a diversified workforce that includes unskilled, semi-skilled, technical, and management/professional staff, as well as a vast supply chain.
Ability to establish positive working relationships with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors.
Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, and learn quickly and adaptably through on-the-job training.
Ability to converse effectively with contractor reps.
Operate unsupervised to conduct professional onsite and offsite visits and audits.
Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
Strong IT and data collection abilities.
Interpersonal and networking capabilities.
