In order to contribute significantly to our goal of achieving universal access to clean water, sanitary facilities, and good hygiene by 2030, WaterAid is looking to hire enthusiastic individuals to fill the following positions.
Major Responsibilities
- The Country Program’s Head of Programs is responsible for providing overall strategic direction, technical leadership, and oversight for all aspects of strategy, programming, and public health, sanitation, and water initiatives.
- Visionary in foreseeing future WASH trends and strategically managing and directing WaterAid to effect change within the industry.
- In order to find fundraising opportunities, support government and donor engagements and scope donors at the local, regional, and international levels.
Eligibility and Requirements
- A master’s degree or higher, ideally in a field like public health, engineering, water resources, development management, or any field that is directly or indirectly related to WASH.
- Fifteen (15) years of minimum professional experience, at least seven (7) of which should be in a senior management role in a reputable non-governmental organization (NGO) in the country or abroad.
- A minimum of five years of demonstrated expertise in managing the creation, expansion, planning, and execution of initiatives that bring about revolutionary change.
- Knowledge and expertise in the WASH sector, including familiarity with important WASH sector funders, as well as an awareness of industry trends, laws, and best practices as well as national and international development challenges.
- Knowledge of rights-based development strategies and how Tanzania’s WASH sector might benefit from them.
