Orodha Ya Wahudumu Wa Afya Ngazi ya Jamii Selected To Join Training Colleges. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania through the Ministry of Health and the Office of the President, Regional Administrations and Local Governments (OR – TAMISEMI) is implementing an Integrated Program for Health Care Workers at the Community Level in the country. Through this Program, the Government has put in place a procedure to find qualified Service Providers, to provide training to these service providers so that they can implement Integrated Health, Nutrition and Social Welfare interventions.
In implementing this Plan, the Ministry announces that it has started implementing this Plan in twenty-three (23) Councils within 11 Regions for this first phase. The regions are Geita, Pwani, Tanga, Songwe, Mbeya, Lindi, Tabora, Kagera, Njombe, Kigoma and Ruvuma.
The implementation of this Program in the specified Regions began by announcing the positions of Health Care Workers at the Community Level to apply for those positions and followed by the community exercise of the respective areas to select the qualified Health Care Workers. Two attendants are required, i.e. a Man and a Woman for each Township/Street.

A total of Thirty One Thousand, Two Hundred Seventy Five (31,275) community members came forward to apply for these positions. A total of Twenty One Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy Four (21,574) applicants met the criteria and entered the selection stage within the community. This process involved a total of One Thousand and Forty Four Streets (1,044), Seven Hundred and Fifty Four Villages (754) and Three Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Three (3,853) Townships. After the screening exercise (shortlisting) and election through community meetings, a total of Nine Thousand, Four Hundred Ninety Two (9,492) Community Level Health Workers were selected and for Ruvuma Region a total of One Thousand Community Level Health Workers , Two Hundred, Twenty Seven 1227 will be elected. So having Community Level Health Care Workers, Eleven Thousand, Five Hundred, Fifteen (11515).
