With the aim of developing into a thriving community for privacy experts to study, research, instruct, and advocate for best privacy practices, TPPA is an organization that is registered in Tanzania as a corporation limited by guarantee. Additionally, it provides members with a forum for exchanging expertise about data protection and privacy in Tanzania.

Responsibilities of the Intern

  • Creating and preparing, under management’s direction, posters, news briefs, articles, and updates on data protection and privacy.
  • Overseeing the TPPA’s social media accounts and making sure that fresh content is consistently added for Members to access.
  • Writing emails and letters to TPPA’s stakeholders as needed, in accordance with management instructions.
  • Following up with TPPA’s stakeholders and the regulator regarding letters and information.
  • Monitoring issues that require TPPA’s special attention.
  • TPPA’s visibility can be raised by participating in social media and implementing other outreach initiatives.
  • Creating the TPPA event calendar in collaboration with management and organizing the planning of the aforementioned events.
  • Any additional responsibilities that the management may designate.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university;
  • Must be knowledgeable about privacy and data protection.

Skills:

  • Strong writing and verbal communication abilities.
  • Well-exhibited curiosity and research skills.
  • Proficiency with the internet and capacity to operate remotely.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) proficiency is necessary.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken Swahili and English.
  • Abilities in managing time.
  • The capacity to operate autonomously with little guidance.
  • Multitasking and detail-oriented abilities.
